Stormwater Impacts

The most dramatic consequence of stormwater runoff may be flooding and property damage. But there are other impacts:  When stormwater pollution causes stream or lake impairment it means that waterbody can no longer supports its uses.  In other words, it is too dirty for fishing, swimming, or maybe even for drinking. Everything that we put into the water, even unintentionally must be removed in order to drink it.  The more polluted our water supply, the more money will have to be spent on cleaning it so that we can drink it. In addition, strict regulations of wastewater treatment means pouring money into plant and facility upgrades and advanced treatment methods to meet the higher standards of discharge.
