Minimize Pesticide and Herbicide Use

If applied inappropriately, pesticides and herbicides can mix with stormwater and result in "non-pests" being killed.  The non-pests that live in our lakes, rivers, and streams can be severely affected by a contaminated environment. Plant life is also at risk.  If you choose to apply pesticides and herbicides, make sure you read the application instructions and check the weather forecast.  Inappropriately applied chemicals can kill the good stuff as well as the bad stuff.
