Girl Scout Patch Program

Stormwater SMART is proud to offer regional Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn our Stormwater SMART patch.  For a downloadable brochure, please click here.

1. Stormwater Presentations

The Stormwater SMART staff is available for presentations to troops. The presentations include:

  • Power Point Presentation, Be SMART! 

  • Enviroscape Demonstration

  • Trivia Quiz where troop members can win prizes

2. Complete Stormwater Activity Book

The Stormwater Activity book allows troops to gain basic information on water quality pollution and Stormwater runoff. Download Stormwater Activity Book.  (Book is also available from Stormwater SMART staff). 

3. Complete a Community/School Survey

Part of the Stormwater SMART Challenge requires troops to walk around their community or school yard and discover how those areas can improve their Stormwater runoff problem.

4. Participate in a Stormwater SMART Event

Stormwater SMART hosts several events a year that your troop can participate in:

5. Develop and Implement Stormwater Solutions

  • Troops can work with the Stormwater SMART Education Coordinator to build a raingarden or wetland in a public area.

  • Troops can make suggestions to school or community organizations on how to prevent stormwater runoff from from polluting local waterwaterways.

6. Arrange a presentation for similar organizations or science classes.
